Weld Mold® Polytec® 205
Weld Mold 205 is a high speed, all position electrode with a specially developed coating containing iron powder to assist in faster weld deposition. Formulated for higher tensile strength than Weld Mold 204, low penetration for poor-fit-up and easy restrike characteristics make this electrode a versatile welding product.
Applications
Weld Mold 205 may be used for all types of mild steel fabricating and maintenance welding including: plate, pipe, tanks, beams, and other types of construction work where mild steel is used.
Procedure
Use AC or DC, with either polarity, although straight polarity is suggested. For best results, a short arc should be used, or a “drag” technique if desired in certain areas. Prepare joints to be welded. Use a close arc with stringer beads; some weaving is permissible. Slag removal is exceptionally easy.
